The Story of Jaque Schobeer

Barely alive, Jaque Schobeer clung to life leaning on what was left of his mutilated and mangled left leg. He did not know the bear would leave him this way to die. After all, bears had not been seen in the tall marshlands of France ever. His life flashed before his eyes as he waxed and waned in and out of consciousness. There was Tigger, his pet collie wagging his tail as he patiently barked at his master. And then the bear tearing and ripping his leg apart.

And there was Jaque's mother sitting on his bed tucking him in after reading him countless stories of brave men and women throughout French history. There was papa giving him his first car for graduation. Then the bear standing with part of his leg hanging in his mouth. Jaque thought in that moment he would surely die.

Stephie loved to ride her bike along the trails of New Hampton marshlands. She was only 11 but was an adventurist to say the least. Her father was the countries leading
chiacker in all of Europe. Needless to say, he had taken her on quite a few river excursions.

She heard a moan coming from the marsh and jumped off her bike to investigate the matter. She spotted Jaque's gruesome body and thought he was dead but she noticed him waking from unconsciousness, and reassured him she would bring help. She grabbed her bike and raced to her village where she found help to rescue Jaque and take him to the nearest hospital.

Jaque almost lost his leg that fateful day but managed to have 40 operations for bone and skin grafts saving his leg and walking with crutches. The marshlands of France home of the bear attack upon Jaque Schobeer who is alive and well in his little town of Laxxon, France has it's own little piece of history to tell.
