Road Of Hard Knocks

Father and son stranded alongside the road,
With their trailer of wood on blocks.
Waiting for a tow truck to come,
Lesson one learned, on the road of hard knocks.

Cold winter wind blowing through their coats,
Not at all prepared for what had come.
Each looking at one another as if to say,
“Whatever, will be will be for some.”

A hard cold lesson each one experienced,
One icy winter’s day.
But father and son, became much closer of one,
On that road of hard knocks,
Where one of life's lessons was paid.
