Pink Tears

She sat crying in the darkness
she'd done many nights before
trying her best to stay strong
she couldn't hold back anymore.

Her face tilts towards heaven
lips trembling in silent prayer
she asks the Almighty Savior
embrace him with loving care.

Her heart nestled in loneliness
lies helpless and broken inside
bleeding for the touch of her love
with the pale, pink tears she cried.

They bead like baby pink pearls
drenching her soft,smooth skin
theres no glitz nor glamour here
just her heart's breaking for him.

Next time these pearl drops fall
may they be of a joyous delight
today at last he's coming home
no pink tears will fall this night.

you know. kinda on the border. one hand is this great emotion, the other feeds me some cliches. and pink is a dangerous colour. i could go on, but i do like the poem, so i won't

Composed with sadness but beautifully expressed where turning to God in prayer is important. I too love the baby pink pearls~

Beautiful poem Bono...your words precisely present the pain of separation and the comforting feelings on the expectant reunion...good poetic use of the words tears/pearls in this write
