Mission Impossible :

Title : Mission Impossible 026

Background notes:
A message from a Poet in a Wilderness
.......................................................................
Mission Impossible.

Your mission ,should you choose to accept it,
may be tougher than total disease eradication,
slower than the abolition of third World poverty.
No pinnacle as high as a career in true Poetry.
You will be deprived of all satellite navigation,
Ostracized by friends and fair weather neighbours,
unarmed, just words are your feeble protection.
Let me warn you my friend,
You may think it`s no problem.
You can write all this free verse with a vengeance,
but once you are out there defending fair maidens,
Vainity ? Pride ? are some miles behind you.
Your mind will be clogged with a thousand quotations.
Your Mission, Impossible?World Poet Laureate?

Like the old saying goes, 'it sounds like a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there'. World Poet Laureate... I'd probably wind up crucified. I liked this one very much Philip.
