Nagin(*for Meggie's Love Challenge*)

She is Nagin(the Queen Cobra) ready to strike vengeance for the death of her Nag(the prince, King Cobra)

"FOR IT WAS NOT IN MY ear
THAT YOU WHISPERED
BUT INTO my HEART..."

The warbles from
the charmer's been
flow in smooth ecstasy
glide
slither
caress
the contours
of her sensuous soul
unlock
the scent of her Nag
several moons ago

when his breaths
mingled with
the sensual jasmine
flowed like a river
in eternal spate
through her tempestuous core
and intoxicated sighs

till...
death dressed
in the garb
of a stealthy visitor
snatched her knight away
reducing her
to a lonesome wisp
forever lost
in the jasmine bush
craving
beckoning
her mate's
throbbing flesh.

~Now entranced~
~Now mesmerized~
She sways~
and sways~

"It was not my lips you kissed...
"...bUT...My SOUL''

she's no longer
a mass of
flesh ,bones and blood~
~but a frenzy fusion~
of his kiss~
his touch~
his sigh~
his flesh~
she's the Nagin~
the drops
of endless thirst
still glistening
on her untamed sensuality
she raises her hood~

...READY TO STRIKE

(Thank you so much Maggie for making me aware of the rules of the challenge...Cheers :)

I can almost visualize the cobra slithering with darting tongue of venom...'beckoning/ her mate's/throbbing flesh."

[death dressed in the garb of a stealthy visitor] Fine verse of Kings & Queens with venom?

Wow. This is impressive, wonderfully creating via mere words, the passionate romance and yet marvelously the very sensation of watching a snake in action, lending the behind-the-scenes information regarding her behavior. Sensual, erotic, intensely passionate, romantic. Steamy, fascinating, poignant, potent. Fantastic. Superb imagery and skillful rendering. Breathtaking. Eerie, chilling. I am totally impressed, fabulous. A treat of a romance with the specified prompt and anything but tame. Truly awesome.

A very interesting write about the Queen and King of Cobra, a sportive happening, when thinking of a Cobra, it's frightening though...at last...she is ready to strike(again)...and not forgetting the sweet smell of Jasmine scent...Impressive poem, Sridevi! Wish you much success with Meggie's Love Challenge!

Well I have read many of those poems that were put forward to this valentine challenge, but nothing as unique as this. I am amazed that this poem hasn’t got many comments, I feel this is really good, only thing that would stand against you is that dark imagery is not something that people like to associate with things like ‘love and romance’, but I love this!!

OMG I just loved this one!!.. No flattering Sri, the dark, gothic manner in which you unraveled the story really gripped me and the story was fascinating to read. Hope I wont get Goosebumps
