Tomorrow

Tomorrow, you say
Things will be different.
Tomorrow, you say,
Changes will be made.
Tomorrow, you say,
Everything will be alright.
So I wait
Minutes, hours, days
Ticking ever closer to that golden promise
Of better days.
But just as it seems
Tomorrow is in my grasp,
It vanishes
Fading away like smoke in the wind.
Tomorrow becomes today
Leaving me to wait once more.
Soon, I realize,
That tomorrow is just a dream
Glorious, hopeful,
Unreachable, untouchable.
Tomorrow, you said.
Tomorrow never comes.

so often it is thus... how true... make today good as it can be and tomorrow takes care of itself
