My Love Begets a Sonnet

While sitting here in silent thought
visions of you dominate my mind.
The hopefulness that you have wrought
would take eons to be defined.
One touch of your hand casts a spell,
putting stars in my eyes so bright.
My countenance knew that all was well,
it was safe to love with all my might.

The lonely are not without hope.
The Lord has someone there for you.
Two together can always cope
when real truth and honesty imbue.

The words you spoke so tenderly
lowered barriers earlier constructed.
Your true love oozed so splendidly
my heart was pleasantly corrupted.
Come walk with me, share my space,
neither one shall know sad solitude.
We’ll pace ourselves, this is no race,
more of a heaven sent interlude.

The lonely are not without hope.
The Lord has someone there for you.
Two together can always cope
when real truth and honesty imbue.

We’ll write each other heartfelt rhymes
as we soar together to much loftier climes.

Ha ha... I tried to write a sonnet, once. Afterwards, I lay unconscious for a day and a night... ha ha. Super job.
