country living

do you hear the faint crying
in the middle of the night
neighbors next door
just gearing up for a fight
and you, now sleepless,
wishing you could hold that crying child
and call the police before the screaming starts
one day i plan to move to the country
perhaps all i'll hear is the birds

Great sentiment exact! I agree whole heartily. Living in the big city enables one to be that much closer to all the sounds of crime and better at inhaling all the air pollutants. There is no peace in an apartment building,or a trailer park. Loud music or grumpy neighbors are always all around. Great poem! : )
