Compatibility?

What creates an attraction that is magnetic
A perfect relationship that fits like a glove
At first everything is agreeable and copacetic
Suddenly an enamored pair falls out of love

Is it realistic to reach the summit and maintain
an altitude… with feet never touching ground
When temperatures cool and it begins to rain
Captivation is clouded by trials that confound

The unforeseen with no cure can desensitize
There apparently is a loss of communication...
An ideal match is no longer easy to recognize
Each of the them is in need of a solo vacation

Wishful dreams that fuel romantic infatuation
may not encourage compromise or flexibility
Can new eyes assess and salvage the situation
Improve probability… explore the possibility

This is written dryly but there is a lot of sad resolve in it. Sad Sad subject. I like to beleive that two can float on a cloud forever as long as they learn the art of clinging to one another in times of trouble. There must be a dire need underneath for each other....someone very special that the heart could never part with. If you have those elements you have the makings of true love. Hopefulness must be much stronger than that sad resolve. And it helps if one of the two is a peacemaker. In times of trouble, when you feel like going the other direction...those are the times to hold on tight.
