Rainbow Attack (For Dorothy)

Rainbow Attack (For Dorothy)

Simplicity I know! Please tell me far more
about the rainbow —than its prismatic
separation of colors are a beauty to see.

From infra-red to ultra-violet shock stagers
into eons and stars within the mind’s eye
as the spectacle of the rainbow ignites.

When did the child’s wonder dwindle
to never ask the world “why” again?
Why did man decide not be vulnerable?

Where is the awe that discovered love
for a bouquet of wild flowers, or that
kiss pressed long to passion’s sweet lips.

Instead offer me, how the rainbow’s arch
transforms us; How does each breath’s
invisible colors reach deep into the heart.

I think everything is inside beauty, and beyond beauty is also beauty only if we choose to see it.

I am sure the how's and why's of a rainbow are very complex but, like Dorothy, I just enjoy the beauty of an arch of beautiful colours that graces us with it's presence for a very brief time. I also enjoy her beautiful poems about them.........Pat

Vision kindling rainbow is spiritually amazing more than the effect of passionate kiss out of love transporting one to unique blissful state which is wonderfully weaved in this nice poem!

Ah, Sir Peat...we can always look deeper...But how did you feel when you discovered there was no Santa and the Easter Bunny was just a "white lie" and the Princess really couldn't dance in the glass slippers...lol Dorothy A Poet Who Loves To Sing

I feel this way when contemplating the universe, we are babes, we know so very little, the darkness is gorgeously sublime.

I love the way you craft this poem, moving through stimulating query that reminds us to cherish wonder and awe... the spirit and life of beauty that reaches 'deep into the heart.'

Your point, Ron, is well taken. Facile or surface descriptions aren't enough. The poem, if it's of any value, has to be transformative, or at least move us in some way.

The quest to reach beyond , to pierce the sheen of the unthought ,to unhook the sky from the earth's ends and look underneath like a child who sees eveything for the first time. The essence of the poem is spiritual and divine . Wondrous as always , eternally stimulating piece yet again.
