Rainbows...My answer to Mr. Peat's comment on my poem "Feeling Needy"

Another rainbow poem
Was his lament
Here's Dorothy again
With the same sentiment
Rainbow dreams she says
Once more
Rainbow poems, sigh, are
Such a bore...
Rainbows are not the answer
To everything
Says Mr. Peat
Eat some popcorn
Your life to complete
Cease and desist I demanded
Of a foggy gray day
You need rain for rainbows
Mr. Peat ventured to say...
Rainbows lift burdens from hearts
For just a minute...
A Rainbow!
A Rainbow!
I am so happy God sent it!
So Mr. Peat my Poet Friend
I'll probably write a nother
Rainbow poem while my heart
Ascends somewhere over it where
I am allowed to sigh...
A treasure for me and every other eye.
So no popcorn, at your suggestion will I eat,
Rainbows!
Rainbows!
A heavenly treat!

Oh listen to this. A rainbow attack. I'm not against rainbows at all. But there are so many rainbow poems out there that the writer that chooses to write another best put something new into it. Just so that it isn't the same old rainbow poem again. That's the point. Be creative about it all. And I freely admit I've written a few rainbow poems. But if you want to read a unique rainbow; read Wordsworth's, "The Rainbow" and write a poem just for me that explains how the rainbow beheld makes "the child the father of the man." There's a real rainbow challenge for you. Why is the child the father of the man? Put something like that in a rainbow poem and you will really have something. A poet friend...RH Peat

Rainbow was the best thing ever happened to me, my dear! It's like a painter's palet so colourful... and perhaps it's a real female's deed: rainbow watching...Please keep on writing about rainbows...thanks for sharing this jewel, my dear!

I adore rainbows and even if it another poem about rainbows other poets would delight in it. I found a really interesting site on rainbows and butterflies and I will give you the website address and all you have to do is copy it and paste it, and it will come up. We had a butterfly experience in our family and it was a miracle. Perhaps the next poem you write on rainbows could include some of this information if you feel inclined Dorothy. It is: http://butterflywebsite.com/discover/bfliesandrainbows.cfm
