Sleep of Perfect Peace..Written after a strange request

(I received a request from "She-Writes" to write her a poem to read at an aunt's funeral...This is the poem...

We come today
To speak quietly of
Our Aunt (her name here) as she rest
In her sleep of perfect peace.
Her spirit soars in cloud safari
of rainbow dreams.
We honor our kinship to her
And find solace in memories she
Bequeath to each of us.
Some memories in a distant past
And surely some of recent yesterdays.
We shall treasure each one as we
say fondly, hands over hearts,
Aunt (her name) "Rest In Peace!"

she rests/solace bequeaths. Love the poem for the reason it was written. It is divine a thing to help someone in need. A great wordless emptiness can fill our spirit when someone close to us dies. Well done Dorothy, You sing. We are here to encourage one another in time of need. A poet friend...RH Peat

Well, I did receive a "Thank You" note and it expressed the family's appreciation and love of the poem...Actually it was not the thanks for writing the poem I was concerned with...had just hoped I wasn't being taken for a ride...I have been asked before to write strange poems, i.e. "an invisible poem"...a "quiet poem"...and others. I always accept the challenge...No Request, Please! lol Dorothy Singing Still

This is a so beautiful Dorothy and I do hope it helps the family grieve and come to terms with the death of the Aunt. However, I think you should have received a "thank you" for writing this sincere and precious poem. Hopefully, you may still hear from the person who was fortunate in receiving your gift straight from your generous heart!
