Tainted

I sleep no more in purity
of the young and innocent soul.
Living has tainted my life
running close to the devil’s claw.
I have no evil in my heart,
nor is it hard, as stone,
but running near the darkness
has blurred my vision so.
I seek no repentance
for no crime I have committed.
I only search now
for the innocence I lost
before my life was tainted.

Never does ones innocence return. Oh well. God bless, Linda

Deep, reflective, well done.
