The Sunshine Cure

Winter weariness becomes oppressive
while the dry brittle brown vegetation
is covered by a seamless blanket of snow...
Familiar landscape shapes lose definition

Feeling glum, needing some therapy
There it is, sunshine… it is a wonder cure
for lessoning the gray; easing sadness
and reducing stress… feeling more secure

Vibrant rays relieve as they sooth the soul
lifting a troubled hazy mood skyward
Gliding with a weightless string attached
Increasing optimism… lifting eyes upward
