Smiles Conquer

He wears a face of thunder,
Intimidation is his goal;
A huge scowl and angry eyes
Burn gaping holes in your soul.

And yet, a gentle, warm smile
In reply can his heart thaw
If he has one that’s not of stone,
One not rotten to the core.

She wears a face of sunshine,
Which instantly makes us smile;
We can’t help but imitate
Her warmth with no hint of guile.

Hearts glow when she’s around
There’s an air of exuberance,
Spirits are raised so high,
You almost feel like a dance.

These are the two faces of life,
Two sides we see each day;
One where we dare not go near,
The other we love to stay.

This is true, a great lesson in life to be learned. Smiles are the key to exuberance! Thank you for this!
