year long cruise a little fun

married steve, so happy was i
it was good for three months,
but steve could not stop talking.
yak yak except when he slept.
so one day i picked up the tv remote
aimed at him, pressed mute!
ah blessed silence.

married fred, a great guy
one month into the marriage
i was so tired of laughing,
jokes he knew by the millions
and he made love like an expert,
except he told jokes as we did.
enough! i took his joke book away
now back to blessed silence.

one day i was thinking that maybe
if i unmuted steve and gave fred his book back,
they could drivve each other crazy.

me, i'm off for a year long cruise.
they should finish themselves off by then.

lol, excellent humor in this finely crafted gem. Reminds me of the hollywood marriage. Such a fun read. tfs

twice married happily...at last you've made the decision: too much for you, you got rid of them and now you are for a year long cruise, it be real or virtual, now you've found at last the happiness you've been looking for...very amusing but brilliantly thought and penned!

Poor Phraser
amusing poem, with an unsettling hint of bigamy.
