Cumulonimbus Of Fire by Justin McCollum

Enlightenment

Grey bellied clouds hang teasingly overhead,
keeping one wondering if they will release their load,
and refresh the patchwork land beneath their gaze.

Some playing dodgems with the sun, forcing it to hide
behind them, lighting their top sides with gold.

If only one could climb those white soaring cumulonimbus
and look down on the greenness of our earth.

How we would appreciate such creations, that give us life sustaining
showers and shade from the daytime heat,
and luxuriate in the enlightenment of the view.

Clouds are always fascinating. I like how you give them 'personalities', as if they want to tease us, or, play dodgems. Another enjoyable poem.
