'The Brain' (A Children's Tale)

**A Children's Tale**
..................................

We call my Cousin
Bob 'The Brain,'
At Three, young Bob
Can spell his name.

He takes the letter
Blocks like so,
And boy, wait til
You see him go!

A big old 'H'
Goes right up here.
And the 'I' is always
Somewhere near.

The 'S' he'll pull
Out from his sock,
And prop it up
Just like a rock.

And before a one
Of us can knock it,
He'll pull a 'N'
Out of his pocket.

In his Tinker Toys
He'll find his 'A',
Beside the thousand toys
He's hid away.

And where nobody else,
He's sure, has peeked,
Where marbles lurk
And candy sneaked,

Where Reeses Pieces
Age with grace,
He'll find that 'M'
In its rightful place.

And then, where
Nobody else can see,
Where no one is
Allowed to be,

Because it's his
And his alone,
His hiding place,
And stepping stone,

Where Secrets have
His Guarantee...
He keeps a very
Special 'E'.

We've made it fun.
To spell his name.
And for little Bob,
It's all a game.

He'll build up the blocks
And we'll hear him roar.
Then he'll tear them down
Like a dinosaur.
