Bed Of Snow (invented sonnet)

Bed Of Snow

Death’s work awaits his slower hand outside
with winter’s wheelbarrow filled-up with snow.
The little cabin’s wall that’s hung with skulls
is dark and caught in silent-sheeted white;
it’s dreams are hidden under earth’s hushed glow
where easy winds are chilled with shivered lulls.

The screen is tight; the door is sealed for night.
The window is without a glint of light,
as dusk rolls in to set its silken black
along this sullen crest in dimmer slack
where fading cloth is poised to slip beneath
the loss of sight. This snow wills to bequeath

the murmur found below the sparkled gleam
in stars to wreath the rounded hour’s extreme.

Liked the new rhyming style you introduce in your invented version, Ron...a well composed sonnet that evokes the memories of snow-cold death...a good poem written in the memory of your deceased brother

Ron, This is a beautifully evocative invented sonnet. (on the 5th line i think you want its, not the contraction it's).
