Sartorial and the Samaritan

The railway station, in Faro, was warm and Yule busy.
sat the waiting for my wife she was in town shopping.
A Man with kind eyes came pressed a five euro in my
hands, said:” “Have a coffee and sandwich on me, but
don’t use it to drink beer.” Have I a drunken face?
Before I could do anything he vanished in the throng
I wore my winter coat and my jeans had paint marks,
thought perhaps I ought to dress with more elegance.
Anyway, I did drink hot coffee and had a ham sarnie.
My wife came I put parcels in the back of our car,
drove home hoped the good Samaritan didn’t see me.

He was a good Samaritan no doubt ! It is unfortunate , that these days the cheats and frauds are mostly elegently dressed ; making it difficult to distinguish ! -Raj
