food for animals

the eagle flew, hunting
could find no prey
so back to the nest to a hungry little one.

the cat came out, prowling
food on his cat mind
could find no mouse
left still hungry.

a bear wandered into a town
looking for something to eat
people panicked
he was tranquillized and taken away
food is getting more scarce
for any animal that hunts

I come back now, have to say about your well thought poem: a good hint for us all, we have to care for the animals, you have shown us how they suffer, brilliantly worded, Carol!

My dear Carol, our world, this planet is out of balance! You describe it well. Never was it God's intention, but human beings can damage a lot. It's our task to keep this world in balance, and that means: we all together!

This is so upsetting Carol, but it is the truth. I object to humans taking animals into wars when they are hungry as we are all part of God. I know this wasn't part of your poem, but my sister's family has escaped from Egypt and it's heartbreaking. A great poem of how animals suffer~

The quiet, uncompromising truth is always the most reliable messenger.

Great piece Carol. Poetfreak allows us to look into other people worlds. Don't think I've ever seen a bear.

Survival of the fittest is the price they pay for being alive. Like the trilogy format of three different animals going through same thing.

True Carol. This time of the year is frought with worry for hunters. A sparrow hawk visits my garden daily hunting for a bird to snatch. I hate it when it happens, but that is nature. Good write...Maggie

I have 7 plus 70 achers of woodlands. And I find that most of our woodlan animals are well fed. I don't over hunt our land and put food and end trails of what my husband and I hunt out for the wild life to feast on. Give back what we don't need and thus retain somewhat a balance of life. God bless, Linda
