What happens to us in the moments immediately following our demise?

Death (The First Five Minutes)

The movie ends and
the credits roll and the
droll lights blind our eyes
to the reality of
existence.
The distance between
now and eternity is 300
unadorned seconds.
Bliss or imagination,
can anyone really know
for sure where the pure
spirit lies in the moments
after death when breath
and heart and thought
cease forever, falling
into the clever trappings
of eternal silence?
Even as we ultimately
expire, will we know?
Our minds true essence
is lost without regard
to the realm of fantastic
illusion and the delusional
ranting going on around
us.
Where does the truth lie?

Eerie and chilling especially if you suspect you are damned, nay, this seems to be from that standpoint, flouting a blissful ignorance as if it might be a sufficient shield against unknown reality. Folk like to tout blythe stories of fantasimo that nobody can substantiate. Thought-provoking and dancing on the edge of sacrilegious. I want to see His face, hear His voice, and be with Him forever, if He grants it. The first 5 minutes....????

A powerful qn, Patrick...Perhaps if one sees one's conditioning and one sees the falseness of this conditioning (I'm Indian; I'm English; I'm Muslim; I'm Hindu etc...) and one drops this conditioning, then perhaps clarity comes into view and perhaps there one sees these things...

A very brilliant piece of work...And I believe the truth lies somewhere in between the first five minutes of Death and Eternity....Whoever bringeth the dead land to life;that is,cultivateth waste land, for him is reward therein !!!

philosophically we could debate this matter for days but I will not challenge you. You're wiser than me, mate.
