Battle Scars

All together, we walk alone
Against all we've ever known
We don't know of it's right
But still, we prepare to fight
In these battles no one sees.
Although they rage inside
You can see the truth inside our eyes
A flame that will burn on
Long after we are gone
From these battles no one sees.
Our childhood has been marred
Our minds and bodies slowly scarred
All this pain, all this violence
Yet no one notices the evidence
Of these battles no one sees.

It is the scars we cannot see That hide unforgotten misery. Abuse we suffered long ago The memories refuse to go.
