Six weeks old, they said.
We had our doubts
but we took him home.
We weren't prepared for the passengers.
Picking off fleas,
we stopped counting
at a hundred and twenty.
And we thought we'd only paid for one life.
Elena S Lol, maybe the fleas were there with a meaning.. a baby cat taken away from mother and siblings needed a lot of touch to become familiar with a new house and new hands..should I guess, maybe she is a good loving cat now?
Thank you for share, funny poem , and sweet pic, thank you for share.
Jenny Gordon Around here they'd arrive uninvited. What a pity you had to pay for so many lives too! What what a horrible package, excepting it was irresistible, adorable and hopefully grew to be useful when the mice invaded, nor ever thought to scent the house as his.
Munia Khan Your first Kitten- very well written! But the 'Flea' part needs a brand new start.Nice work Erik.
Susan Jarvis Sometimes one life comes with the trials and tribulations of baggage, or blood-sucking lodgers in this case, but I'm absolutely sure that your new family member is worth every single flea. :)
magnolia Aww Paul this is a delightful write, despite the extra lives you took on ! Have fun...Maggie
