Lady With Hope

an open door
an open heart

emerging from darkness
embracing the light

a house built on rock
her life a labor of love

open to the Word
endured with one truth

a well-trodden path
with shoes worn thin

clothed in heavy attire
through cold and harshness

read her fingers
bony and strong
read her face
a story of faith
a story of daily grace
with one desire
to live the Word

resting now
with weary eyes
upon the Book
with Hope as her companion
