an open door
an open heart
emerging from darkness
embracing the light
a house built on rock
her life a labor of love
open to the Word
endured with one truth
a well-trodden path
with shoes worn thin
clothed in heavy attire
through cold and harshness
read her fingers
bony and strong
read her face
a story of faith
a story of daily grace
with one desire
to live the Word
resting now
with weary eyes
upon the Book
with Hope as her companion

i'm returning to this poem. there is something in lines 'emerging from darkness embracing the light a house built on rock her life a labor of love' that keeps on haunting me in a good way. a brilliant poem, Ben.
