just thinking

the moment when kings fail you is the moment to recall
that at your turn you must have failed someone –
don’t blame them for their humanness, don’t judge them for their call,
just take a sec’ to breathe – what’s done is done.

we all appear as crowned heads to the lesser ones than us,
who see our arses on some higher spot –
and god! i’d swear that not just once did we enjoy the fuss
of others’ envy for our fuller lot.

it surely feels nice, when you think, to breathe the air of heights
and be a master for the other ones –
but keep in mind that duties come together with the rights
and through our veins it’s still warm blood that runs.

the moment when kings fail you is the moment to become
the one to prove himself of royal blood –
so have the courage to ignore their sins and errors’ sum
and rise above their pitiable mud.

how about a pauper with a heart of gold? We should all be kings or queens once in life and all is possible if one believes. In another kingdom the lowly will one day be kings by measure of the contents of their hearts. Nice poem.

And you must keep thinking, Liliana. This is brilliant. Very wise words indeed.
