By the simple act of falling
the one and only thing holding
it all together since
before stars blinked into
consciousness
is cancelled out when
I look to those stars
and begin to understand
where I really am
when I'm without you
falling through another
day
falling away from that
world where we
shared common sunlight.
I enjoyed this, compact and focused.
