One Year Ago or God's Newest Angel

One year ago today
almost to the minute
God found an angel living on Earth
and decided to call him home.
He was a patient man
who loved his wife
regardless of what she said and did.
He accepted her as is.
They say love is blind
and he sure was
when it came to his bride.
He worked long and hard
to provide for his family.
Didn’t complain much – if at all.
One year ago today,
almost to the minute,
God told him it was time to come home.
He went without much of a fuss,
so I’m told.
This man of patience,
who accepted his lot in life,
is now an angel in Heaven.
This angel of patience has a name.
And, I call him Dad.
