Love In The Rain (Compound Word Verse)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The music is by Giovanni Marradi. The close up
of the lorikeets appear about the middle of the
video. These are like the the birds in my garden.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Come ~~ I-spy with me though fern’s lace
dripping lorikeets' secret place
in rainfall~

Hold ~~ your breath through thunder-struck moans
to behold zoomed plumes have now shown
a rainbow~

Look ~~ they’re kissing’s special and sweet
they snuggle and cuddle a treat
in rainstorm~

Hear ~~ them play and sway to rain’s rings
to now sing with no need to bring
a raincoat~

Know ~~ they steadfastly mate to be
lovers of twenty years in the
rainforest~

Another gem of nature are we so lucky in OZ to have this wonder in the garden so well written in your poem, ironically we have had so many storms and floods in northern NSW they are true rainforests...regards

Wow. Sensuous, sweetly erotic and beautifully passionate. What a lovely tribute to fascinating birds. I love the imagery you use, drawing the reader into the moment to secretly peek on the romancing underway in the rain, an excellent metaphor. Awesome, impressive, enticing, delightful. Fantastic.
