hello jpeg

all of us,
every single one of us,
will vanish.
we are but
temporary citizens
in this world.

we pay our rent,
settle our dues,
and exit.
a little quieter
than we arrived.

in another 100 years,
give or take a couple,
none of us will exist.

not one of us
will be around.
you, me, them,
or our enemies.
all of us will be gone.

no saints. no sinners.
no tycoons. no moguls.
no sheikhs. no celebrities.
no moms. no fathers.
no me. no you.

this world
will be occupied
by our kids' children.
and there will be
fresh new roses,
and busy young
honey bees with
pollen on their feet.

all of us will be gone.
and we will all be jpegs.
maybe it's high time
we introduced them
to each other.
