I make now a very deep bow for you grand-lady of eighty.....oops almost a new poem...yes, I knew that you are always producing instantly, and happy to know that your friend has pushed you unconsciously to make poems! I love to hear your story on how it all started, thank you and glad that you like it.

Sylvia, how Lovely!...My most sincere "Thank You" for the love, for the good wishes and for making me feel soooooo special on what will be a most special birthday. What a beautiful Birthday poem and card...Surely Hollywood will come calling if they chance to see it. lol I thank all of you for your comments and good wishes. I am thrilled to call each of you a friend in this exciting arena of poetry here on PF! Dorothy A Poet Who Loves To Sing I wrote my first serious poem on a dare from a classmate on January 21, 1948...She said to me "I bet you can't write a second verse to this poem" and gave me her first verse. I immediately wrote the "second" verse (fast) and gave it back to her. She said, after reading my verse, "how did you do that so fast?" I replied "well you wrote the first verse and it was easy like breathing!"...She replied, "Girl, mine was from a song sheet!" We laughed and that was the beginning. Oh, the "poem" was called, "I Like To Dance" and I still have the original paper here somewhere. I wrote so many poems that week, everyone wanted me to write one for them. I just received a Birthday card from that friend, Eloise, this week, yes we both are alive and well and still laugh about that day...I had just turned "16"! Oh Yes!
