Rays

Three halogen lamps
Illuminate small circles on the store glass
Of Poet Symposium Books,

Rain slathering down a sealskin trenchcoat.

A women fights her umbrella on reflex,
Skirting beneath an awning;
Touches one of the rays
And disappears.

Deep and vividly descriptive, I enjoyed this read very much.

That must have been a powerful experience for you; to bring out such descriptive yet simple observations.

Another gem Yarborough, a lesson on how to take the smallest moment and, dare I say..illuminate it. Nicely done. Green.

I like the images created and I especially like the way two words go together..."an awning". Liked "slathering" too. I found this poem very relaxing. Isn't that a poet...taking in the little details that others miss.

Ha ha... The truth revealed! It's all about how objects in question absorb and reflect the light. How we choose to interpret these events comes much later, but it picks up speed quickly.
