Come To Pass

Gift me a place under the
old oak and setting sun, a
clear night and my dreams
won,

Let wild flowers cover me
and birds sing in harmony,
the fading heart shed colour
for eternity
.
And with the dying of my
day may warm winds blow,
and from my soul a peace
to flow.

In the shade of the oak let
tranquillity reign, let my
gift to the world be easing
of pain
.
Let war and suffering lie
alongside me, your heart
to live long and ever be
free.

How very beautiful with excellent imagery! A bittersweet call for peace and harmony, burying the strifes and griefs alongside the longing speaker, graciously offering to take the burden from the world. In a sense, when we leave we kiss that ugliness goodbye, in effect, don't we? Wonderfully poignant and so lovely. Ah, but I don't want to kiss you goodbye!

Beautiful, caring , peaceful and quite attractive to me, I find no fear of the end of life . You make me wonder: On the other side of life's wall, would we be a real conscientious part of the nature? .. (as for me, wish I could become a tree, lol).Thank you for share Chris, lovely , lovely poem.
