I Don’t Like Christmas

I don’t like Christmas
may seem an odd statement
especially for me.
Someone who tries to write
about it with pretty poetry.
Christmas used to be a lot of fun you see,
but not anymore.
What changed it happened many years before.
It was a sad time
that affected us all,
it was when near that day
my granddaughter was taken away
to heaven and ever since then
Christmas is a sad time to me.
When I look at children
with smiles on their faces,
I think of how old
my granddaughter would have been.
Therefore, you see why
I say I don’t like Christmas
with all its cheerful spirits,
especially when we take flowers
to put on that lonely grave each year.

Oh that is very sad, but I agreee with FJR it is true she would love you to be happy and yes when you seevanother under privilged child you can give her a gift in memory of your beloved granddaughter that would surely make you and her happy. May you have a blessed Christmas!

Ahhhh....my comment shot off on its own...(To continue from below) However, if you believe that Angels exist as I do...You & your family most assuredly have your very own Christmas Angel...who(albeit, I could be wrong)my bet is that she would want all of you to celebrate the Birth of Christ ,if for no other reason than in her honour! My hope for you & yours is Peace, Happiness & the for the Harris's to find a way to have a 2011 Christmas that provides solace, warmth and cheer... ~FjR~

A justifiable feeling each December 25th for you & yours, David. Obviously, there isn't anything anyone can say or do to go back in time & reverse this immeasureable loss....However,

David I am truly sorry for your loss, which time cannot mitigate. For all who have suffered loss of a loved one at this time of year. I hope someday your tears can be turned into joy.

My grandson has joined your granddaughter in heaven. This Christmas I will still set his place at my table in remembrance of him. I put his ornament on the family tree. But I have to think of the ones which are still here with me. and have a happy time for them.
