A VEGGIE MERRY, ANIMAL-FRIENDLY CHRISTMAS.

Every year in UK,
a minimum of 8 million Turkeys are
slaughtered for Christmas.

Then, what about Ducks, Chicken,
Goats, Pigs, Cows and
innumerable other living creatures?

The highest teachings of Jesus are
based on sacrifice!
Then, why can't we enjoy a veggie-Christmas?

If we try,
billions of birds and animals can be saved.
Is that not the message of Jesus?

bold and brilliant; there is so much to chose from vegetable basket, complete nutrition. I once read consuming non vegetarian food is like making a grave yard of your stomach. made me think!

I am NOT a meat eater, either TG, Premji. I guess at one time in our history, in order to survive, animals had to be killed for food but those days are long gone. There is so much variety in our shops today of good, healthy, nutricious food, that nobody needs to kill a living creature so that they can eat. But, it is a matter of individual choice. We can each only be responisble for ourself, for what we eat. I like the message in your poem very much Premji. Excellent write! Thank you for sharing. God bless you always........

A noble write and request Premji...but I am not sure many will pay heed to it..the tradition is steeped too much into daily life...

In the western world, vegetarianism is not that common. If you don't eat red meat, you are a vegetarian. As far the lives of turkeys and other birds, it would be nice if we did not eat them on holidays to be a part of God's world.

Last year I skipped Christmas Dinner entirely Prem, thereby saving countless living beings, both animal and vegetable. Five sprouts, two cabbage leaves and a potato were saved from a horrible watery death. :) kath xxxx
