Apple Branch

Apple Branch

The longest limb on the tree
is laden with yellow-green—
with leaves and green apples

No apple waits
for any other apple;
they all grow fat on the old limb.

Ripening in the rush of green—
the apples bulge in weight,
and the woody limb sags.

That's life . The limbs that feed stay closer to ground , always trying to be within the reach of the needy souls. Ripened fruits make themselves available like a dream beong put on sale at the superstore of life ....only givers can be takers

but if you touch with the tip of your finger to any one of them, it shivers the root also, the stem also and the whole tree reacts with your touch... infinitely finite the reality of life.

Ron this could be an allegorical poem also with the message , - 'Nature moves on with its survival of the fittest norms , not pausing to look back at what is past & gone !' Thanks , - Raj

Described so vividly that I can almost see the branch sagging and ready to break. "No apple waits for any..." a good descriptive line of reality and uncaring nature.
