Arrows

Promises once fulfilled-
Go forgotten with ease
They meet their sad demise,
Find no homage no praise

Promises, long un-kept,
Live remembered with scorn
Their arrows follow those,
Who strives to fulfil lone

Each second passing out
Would tell accusing tale
Make never a promise
You can't ever inhale...

Hmm. Fascinating and thought-provoking, with a serious admonition. Excellent metaphors. Best let our yes's and no's be just that, eh?

Yes Kesav, that is very true, fulfilled promises forgotten are with ease, the other ones, an arrow poking deeper with every day to go. Truth spoken , have not kept my promise more than once, those memories often back wants to eat my soul, unfulfilled promises, true, most fierce hunters are. Good poem, thank you for share.

we live in a world where few people express gratitude and keep their word. At times promises are made with all good intentions, but somewhere life, karma or whatever makes it difficult to keep. one feels guilt, betrayal. when we ourselves can't live up to our expectations of ourselves, there is no point in feeling bitter. sometimes we are at recieving end, and it hurts, but one learns to let go. Kesav, you have made a profound statement in this short, but succinct write, we must be mindful. a verse full of wisdom

No one can be untouched by this work. Unkept promises are a universal sore point. That's why I never make any.

Excellent words of Wisdom in this finely inked write, Kesav. We should never give our word lightly and if we give it, we should always honour it. Excellent visual detail, in this sagaciously expressed poem. Thank you for sharing, Kesav. Blessings always, dear friend......

Wise words Kesav. A promise that isn't made cannot be a disappointment when it goes unfulfilled .
