Sardonic State Of Mind

Candied sugar covered memories
Lie like they are confronting death
Taste sweet to my hungry hollow mind
But I know they take their last breath
I refuse to accept the dark truths
That bang on the back door of my mind
I relish the sweet delicious lies
My blissful ignorance is optionally blind
Don't interject, make sense of this
I don't care what you feel or say
I'm blissfully happy being lied to
So begone, leave and be on your way

Candied sugar covered memories... And we all want a taste of this while in a dreamland we have created. Who wants to be rudely awaken from this state of mind?

never underestimate the power of denial--I like this, but is it really a "sardonic" state of mind? I guess I am asking, is the person really accepting, embracing the optional "blissful ignorance" or making fun of oneself for it (as sardonic might suggest)? this is a curiosity, not a criticism
