Remembrance

Sentimental fragments
Scattered
Throughout time
Dreaming scenes
In pieces
Of the day you once were mine

Memories like trinkets
Held in my heart's store
Can't comprehend
What happened?
You're gone
We're us no more

Days roll on unyeilding
Thoughts torment my mind
My world was once
So colorful
But now
It's like I'm blind

I pray that things get better
That maybe I'll forget
Those days we were
Together
I'll think on
Without regret

a beautiful expression of ones sadness...each words pierce through the heart. Painful but such a great release!

Beautiful and poignantly bittersweet. How very expressive and tender. Miserable reality tiptoeing mournfully in the dark, yet looking ahead, trying to see through the mist to a day when even night's memory will not grieve. Very lovely and touching. I love how rhyme flows through it gently almost unseen yet ever present.

I enjoy the final thought, that despite the blindness and torment, you can find the space to look back without regret. You must to take the bad with the good, as they say.

A winsome and wonderfully rhymed poem Kirk - lost love is so wistfully portrayed.
