Shame and name

He and she had married for life.
Fidelity was to the core.
He didn’t know if she was better;
She didn’t know if he was better.
No comparative assessment
Or different amusement they got.
Yet they left with no regrets left.
They feared shame and valued name.

the 3thrd and 4th lines is what really make this tic. excellent. line six is worded awkwardly, needs reworking. How did they leave with no regrets while fearing shame? Something happened that is not explained or is that the great mystery? I enjoy your simple style that cuts to the core of universal issues of relating to one another in clear and concise language. It works as a whole, your on to something.

What you say is true ! But our politicians value the money game more than the shame ! They are a breed which never goes extinct ! Thanks , -Raj
