Chair She Built

Amnesia warms-over
elephants sitting in a circus of chairs.

The music is stopped
& she is not here
no matter how many times I blink.

There, pirouetting
in the company of elephants
refusing to sit.

Wherever she goes,
carrying the chair she built.

must be from a circus of dream... hmmm, always wanted to watch a live circus... you moved me to dream again...wherever it'll bring me.

Cool variation on a theme. We re compelled to sleep in the beds we make, but that doesn't mean (the more imaginative among us) can't move to another address.
