Kawarau River by Peter Sundstrom

Do You?

Love flows fast
and slow
and floods and dries up
like a river does over years
Your lover's wants and needs and fancies too
cause adaptations
in the squiggles up and down
But love itself lies down below in hearts
not bodies or the flesh
The only thing that tells the tale is
do you love enough to follow and to lead
ride the rapids
pole the shallows
ford the dams
fly the skies
and hold the hearts and souls together
flooding one another
letting body's rhymes and rhythms teach each other
Feel your lover's wants
needs
times
