Weird !!!

First of all thankyou all for the kind words on losing my dog Solo.
I have been reading all your poems and continued to be amazed, they are a great comfort in the difficult place I find myself at the moment. The pic is my new dog to keep company with Socks my black Collie whom has missed Solo a lot, weired the dogs name s Oslo and is 1 year old, his fist birthday was on the same day that Solo passed away. The refuge phoned me and told me they had this young dog, he and Socks are getting on so well, it is as if he was meant to fill that hole. Hope to post something at the end of the week, love and regards to all Chris

May god bless his soul ....isn't it a miracle that he gave you one with the same hand that he took away solo from.

Wildly weird indeed! La, I was so flabbergasted I couldn't believe it. His name seriously is exactly an anagram of Solo's? What an unthinkable coincidence! I am thankful you have another for both Socks and yourself, and hope the grief might somehow be more bearable thereby, and that you all enjoy the days ahead together. Wonderful tribute to the newest member of your family. I miss your old work too. Glad you're back/still here. Never leave, please?!

This has not been a good night forme, Shakes....An hour ago ,after commenting on a Sandra M. pen-gem, I thought I was still on her page, when in fact I had zipped over onto a fine work by Ian B, whjo i proceded to address as"MISSY",thinking that I was still on Sandras pages!!!!And now, my daughter Lauren Marie, who loves to jump onto the Dell we share, anytime if I should walk away from it for a moment, even to go to the "Thinking Room",mind you....but rarely remembers to switch her log-on back to mine, when i return from"THINKING".....has once again STRUCK ! Thus, the below comment, if u haven't already summised....is from me...but Lauren Marie, told me to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving Day! ~FjR~

Chris,....Was not aware of your loss...So very sorry, and heres hopes, pprayers and sgood wishes from me to you, that things will get better for you...and I am confident they most definitely will. Geeze, what a hellbound Train that went down this past year for most of us if not all of us in some way or many ways. I don't think i have ever said good riddins to a year of Life....but me thinx 2011 may be the breaking point of my consecutive record for saying "Thanx 4 th' memories"...Bob Hope I am not....and he was one hell of a altruist, and positive thinker....yet if he were alive today at what, 112 years old....something tells me he would agree that this be 1 year we 'd like to have a toast of "amnesia" on! I am not online for passtime very often , these day's, which is most likely why I missed the sad news about Solo....So, Oslo is your new best-friends name, is it ?hmmmm....being i'm a cryptic-quack of sorts, it didn't take me but a nano-second to draw the parallel & unscramble the letters....Good on ya' Shakes....You're opn yer way back home....(that be here, with us, BTW) Heres to you, and your new friend, and Socks(who could forget their Socks, in November,in New York, anyway ?)And heres a toast of Good Comings to you (and I think I can say) from all of us, 'cuz we're anxiously awaiting your permanent comeback, with saddles ablaze with literary yen for your pen! Happy Thanksgiving, Chris...And GOD BLESS!~Frank/FjR~

no one can fill the vaccuum created by the loss of a loved one, but one manages to find comfort by shifting attention to someone else worthy of love. it's nice to know you are moving onChris, give it time.

Hello Chris, I am Sylvia FC. How's with you now? It's always sad to lose a dog you have for years already! R.I.P.for Solo. I think Oslo can never replace Solo in your heart, that's what I know about dogs and their boss. How old was Solo? By the way...Solo the name means ALONE...Now you have given the new one the name Oslo and this comes from the letters S.O.L.O. You did this on purpose, or just because the new dog was born in the year of O, so you must give him a name beginning with an O. I had a Golden Retriever and was born in the year D. We've (our eldest son) given the name Derby. Good luck with Oslo I wish you much happiness and joy .Bye Chris!

What a wonderful piece of news. Sometimes fate has a way of letting us know just what life is all about, and Oslo (a fantastic anagram of Solo) looks like he's just about to show you. Great to have you back on Poetfreak. :)

So happy to read that Socks has a new companion Chris, animals grieve too and sometimes the best thing is to engage their attention by introducing another lively pet. I hope life is as good as it can be for you right now too. Looking forward to reading your next piece, you've been missed here at poetfreak :)

To lose a pet is sometimes worse than losing a relative. I have had many dogs but I recall them all. Some more than others Anew dog provides company for your other dog but their seems to be some synchronicity at work here

He will be more than a comfort after losing Solo and will make an ideal new friend for Socks. Wishing you lots of adventures together and am looking forward to more of Oslo postings - - from Fay.

oh Chris - a big welcome to Oslo - he's so cute! He looks like he just can't wait to join in and be a part of your wonderful doggy family! Of course, Solo can't be replaced, but hearts are weird things - just when you think they've been broken irreparably, suddenly someone or something makes a little more room for a little more love. I wish you all the love and joy in the world with your newest family member and I look forward to seeing your words posted back here to read and enjoy. :) kath xxxxxxx
