Almost Love

Almost love was born.
A long time ago.
Thought I saw
a twinkle of love.
In the eyes of youth.

Seems like yesterday.
We were in love.
Turning around
it dies in the memories.
Inside my mind
it thrives.

Seeing you so clear.
In the wall of memories.
My heart sighs.
Brushing a faded tear
aside.
Almost love flew away
in tears.
As years passed.

My heart sighs.
As your face fades
away in the memories of my mind.
Slowly turning around
to say goodbye.
Almost love
fades away in time.

So true. Even if we are trying to hang on inside. I enjoyed this.

"Almost love" is a great term for a lot of relationships. There isn't any word that I know of that describes a relationship that is missing maybe a small catalyst to get to the level we want.
