Friendship Woods by Steve Slimm

Into You (for Martha)

When first you were conceived
A part of me went forth
To permeate that which became
You - my child.

From thenceforth forward
That part of me remains
Concealed within the blueprint
Of who you have become.

On a day long hence from now
Some part of me will sigh,
Content to lay down and sleep
Into you - my child.

I missed this gem Steve - I am sure Martha will treasure this poem written with so much emotion by her Dad.

A richness contained in but few phrases but with a musical ear and an artist's eye this verse resonates with poetic eloquence. A worthy tribute to a much-loved offspring. A gem which Martha will want to keep. This will be bookmarked in essence O.B.S.
