Perils Of Internet Dating

Aah, a gal gazes at her looking glass
Hoping to see a movie star,
Then realizes she's not in their class
And grabs her costly face cream jar.

Getting ready for her big time date
She peers into her mirror once more,
But it wasn't her fortune or fate
To be born looking like Demi Moore!

Her guy is tall and very handsome,
Looks a bit like old Robert Redford.
Got to make her cute self look winsome
Or else her beau just might get bored.

She met her guy on those dating sites,
Like she had met a few men before.
But those horny chaps gave her the frights
While this gent was a man she'd adore.

This first date was to be a real treat;
She had dreamed of this coming event
All her life, to be swept off her feet
By a real prince charming, what a gent!

Ready at last, the doorbell rang out.
At the door, she let her new lover in
While she wondered who was this lout,
With a big pot belly and a toothless grin!

Ha ha... Visualization is everything. the politically correct crowd will chirp that attention to appearances is shallow but, as far as nature is concerned, appearances are what sexual attraction is all about.

pushing the "like" button--I suspect there are worse perils than the date being toothless and pot-bellied, but that is bad enough I guess

P.S. Sorry,I forgot your poem was about internet dating. I responded to a general internet thing because I've not got any experience of internet dating. But I would imagine it's not good. :) kath xxxx

Lol. The truth will out! Better to be up front and honest from the start - people with either like you for how and who you are or not. Those who don't aren't worth the time. A tremendously funny and insightful verse Carl - much enjoyed! Ta. :) kath xxx
