Ode to Halloween

Chill wind slowly embraces the body
Wolves of the night howl and bark
Gloomy clouds roaming across the sky
Glitter of the moon fades in dark.

Bats and owls sing without ictus
Where the departed spirits lay
Stygian tombs seem too vicious
Canopy of stars looms with no ray.

Halloween comes once a year
Wretched souls implore for solace
Power from above grants a cheer
Which consoles us and ends the malice..........!

Moody and dark imagery for Halloween so well versed Punsara. I like how the sounds of wolves, bats and owls add to the atmosphere too! The last stanza is a fitting explanation for the celebration of Halloween.
