Fearful

Keeping to the edge,
So afraid of falling for,
Life’s new adventures.

Many opportunities,
Missed upon the journey.

For anxious moments
Confused the expectations
Distract us from the aim.

Objective misty, overcast,
The chance is lost, misplaced.

Settle for weakness,
A second place in living,
Is mediocrity!

Nice one Bob . We all get one go around the block . We can fill the time we have with anything that we please. Love the last verse. It shows the sharp point to your excellent piece.

When one makes a choice to take a chance....there is a big chance that one can also be tagged a "failure". But better to be called that than one who never dared to take a chance. I agree with all except the last stanza...... I think mediocrity is not second place....but much further down in the running order. To crash and burn is a great honor.

Truly said, Bob...distractions often overpower us when opportunities come across...they are the real weaknesses in life...a meaningful life-oriented write

"Objective misty, overcast, The chance is lost, misplaced" Another wonderful write Bob.....a poem with a lesson I like the closing stanza - it sums up the message succinctly...
