Stars Can Still Shine

Shows us that life still moves on, nothing stays the same.

Feel…
The heat that shimmers, sky shaded
but ground and air fever, blanket.
Beads of sweat fed by a body heat,
the temperature rises, lose control.

Sense….
A hopelessness that’s rises fast,
No hope here, life is tough, life is hard.
do feel so inadequate to the task.
Weak, not strong, too old to carry on.

Now See…
How the upside down clouds parted,
sun’s downfall, begins its slow ascent.
The shadows shorten, shrinking fast,
the days hard labour is about to end.

Stop, watch now sun is setting fast,
and how its changing colour highlights,
emphasizes days now changing mood,
lighter atmosphere, awareness comes.

Now with no myriad of rising things,
to spoil, destroy the beauty of the day,
My face beams, birds sing, flowers smile,
and the sun’s warmth becomes welcome.

From dawn to dusk our sun always teaches,
illuminates, and shows, how each moment,
its sunbeams help light the up the gloom,
to show ones stars can still shine and glow.

This is so very beautiful Bob from beginning to end as the poem unfolds through the senses. A mature poet as yourself, knows from experience and this would be a lovely poem for primary school children. It's a pleasure to read Bob~
