I suppose this is a very short homage to the book 'Ecclesiasties'. I agree with the author 100%. Never read it? Go on, give it a go!

Nothing new under the sun

Every song has been sung
old masters displayed,
all the bells of outrage rung
every guitar chord played
for every demise,
a new life begun,
nothing new, my friend,
nothing new under the sun
Just like the argumentative man
loves the sweet mistress of contention
and the father of lies
adores the mother of invention
so does the heart crave
acceptance and love with
stone clad fortunes fixed
life’s golden web spun
there really is nothing new,
my friend,
nothing new under the sun

You have rendered a new take on the familiar words Kev. - your fine poetic expression of what the "nothing new" might include pays due homage and makes a very engaging read.
